This paper contains information about how to learn English effectively, the factors causing difficulty learning English and how to overcome the difficulty of learning English.
It is hoped this paper may provide information to us all about the problems encountered in learning English.
We realize that this paper is far from perfect, therefore, criticism and suggestions from all parties who are building we always hope for the perfection of this paper.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1  Background
Student is one of the all-important factor. We realize that students who enter higher education come from very different backgrounds. As one of the main elements in the teaching, the students set foot in college with English language skills are very different from one another. They are studying in high school equipped with the means, facilities, human resources and adequate methods tend to have a better mastery of reading.
The motivation behind this student seems to vary. There is when learning English in high school really realize the close connection with the development of science reading mastery. Not infrequently those who see English as a difficult subject and then tend to stay away. There are also groups who are less wise to realize that even if they will pursue scientific disciplines outside of English they can not escape the need to read books in English in order to improve and develop this knowledge. Very difficult to understand is the view that English is not our language, and completed studies in college can be done without having to read books in English. In short, students as one of the main elements in a teaching background is one of the success or failure of reading a text book in college.
In the teaching of English is known to many kinds of methods. Several methods such as direct method, functional method, grammar translation method ever popular. Lately, a method known to the person who called Communicative Method which is considered more appropriate to wear. Patterns are applied to teaching English in high school is not currently focused on the mastery of reading training. In high school, in general, the exercises focused on completing the job matters of grammar, memorize and create short dialogues and answer the questions the teacher in the English language.

In writing this paper, the authors formulate some problems as follows:
1. How to learn English effectively?
2. What factors cause difficulties learning English?
3. How to cope with difficulties learning English?

1.3  The Purpose of Writing
The purpose of writing this paper is as follows:
1. To learn how to learn the language effectively Britain.
2. To find out the factors causing difficulty learning English.
3. To find out how to overcome difficulties learning English.

DISCUSSION


2.1  How to Learn English Effectively
The first thing you must understand in learning English is the fact that English is a foreign language for us people of Indonesia. Because it's not a lot of people who use it to communicate and the results are rarely spoken since then the brain will find it hard to get used to English, so we will be hard to learn but still in the record. That is, if we want to learn English is not impossible that you can easily master the English language.
Here are some strategies that can help us improve the ability to speak English effectively.
1.      Remember that learning a language is a gradual process, not a process that occurs in 1 × 24 hours.
2.      Define your learning objectives. What do you want to learn and why you need to learn it?
3.      Make learning a habit. Get used to learn new things every day. Better to learn little by little gradually, rather than two hours a week to study hard.
4.      Try reading the English text, be it newspapers, magazines, or any text, or watch movies or listen to English news. Do this every day or as often as possible.
5.      Choose a good teaching material. However, you still need to learn to read, grammar (grammar), writing, speaking and listening, as a whole-language skills.
6.      Make the process of learning constantly. If you are studying English for 10 minutes every day, the English will satisfy your brain's memory. If you study once a week, do not expect the language to meet the brain's memory.
7.      Vary your learning process. Should do different things every day in order to assist the learning process of four language skills (read, write, see, speak). Do not become fixated on one aspect only.
8.      Find a friend to learn. Learning a language in congregation is more fun and motivating double.
9.      Choose the appropriate study materials with topics you're interested. This will make your learning process becomes more enjoyable, fun, making it more effective.
10.  Connect your grammar knowledge with everyday use. Learning the grammar of a language will not automatically make you able to use the language. Actively practice what has been learned.
11.  Open your mouth! Understand a language does not automatically mean your mouth will speak in that language. Try to speak in English with a loud voice. Initially might sound strange, but this is very effective for your learning process.
12.  Be patient with yourself. Remember that learning is a process. It takes time and continuity. You are not the computer that has a button on and off.
13.  Try to communicate in English. Master the grammar is good. But being able to communicate orally and in writing with others in English, it's nicer and more fun.
14.  Take advantage of the Internet! Internet is a means of learning English is a complete exceptional, fun, and accessible.
15.  "READING" get used to reading what you usually like
16.  "LISTENING" to hear the song, conversational English, speech, etc.

2.2  Causes Difficulties Learning English
Many say that learning English is not difficult, some are told to learn English very, very and extremely difficult. Maybe it depends on individual motivation, or it could be because we do not have the talent to be bilingual or multilingual, it could be. But the flavor-taste learning English is not as difficult as imagined, but not easy as expected.
Here are the factors that cause difficulty learning English as follows:
1.       It's hard to remember the words.
Sometimes just a word that we get so easily vanish from our minds. Factornya is probably one of our concentration and memorization strength "we are getting older and older"
2.      Different pronunciation of the text
We are very familiar with the pronunciation as written. This we never ask our teachers in the Aussie, he was too confused to answer. He can only say 'consult to your dictionary'. 2.3  How to Overcome Difficulties Learning English
1.      Before opening the dictionary, first try to guess what was the meaning of the word according to the context of the sentence. In addition to the dictionary is not preoccupied by this way can also help strengthen our memory
Try to make a simple sentence (oral and written) of the words that we just get it.

How to Learn English Effectively can be done by remembering that the process of learning a language is a gradual process. Make learning a habit. Get used to learn new things every day. Better to learn bit by bit a continuous, rather than two hours a week to study hard.
The factors causing difficulties in learning English language support are difficult to remember the words, pronunciation is different from writing, sound the same but it turned out different words, eloquent to say but can not write because they do not know or forget and others.
How to overcome difficulties learning English actually comes from a willingness to know and want to learn. Without based on curiosity and without any motivation to learn we would be hard to learn English.

3.2 Advice
In the opinion of our group, we know that this country adalan country Indonesia. Before we learn the English language should be studied more in their own language is Indonesian. If later we have to understand and appreciate what is actually learned in Indonesian in our new study that discussed English is the language of another country. However, the English language is very important for us to learn in order to add insight and knowledge of the English language.
